About me

Messenger_creation_18af46e4-624f-41ef-86b1-f79c974bceccHey there! My name is Monica. I am a twenty-six-year-old librarian. I work with seniors and teens primarily and get to spend all my day around books. Isn’t that the dream? I was born in Romania, grew up near Montreal, and now spreading my wings in Toronto. I created this blog in July 2014, so it’s been a while. I started by reviewing books on Goodreads, then became a co-blogger, and finally moved to getting my own blog at the age of sixteen. I took a break from reviewing with my move to Toronto, and also because my reading tastes had changed tremendously (from Middle Grade and YA primarily to Adult memoirs) and I didn’t feel as confident talking about real people’s experiences as I did about those of fictional characters. I’m very happy to be back with this new me and I hope you come say hi! Cheers. Monica

  8. Hi Lola,

I am writing to you to firstly say i am a big fan of your site. I think your posts are very thought-provoking and a very interesting read. I came across some of your writing after you liked something on my site: theprestopost.com .

I have recently created the site which publishes articles and media on a wide range of topics. It is a combination of news aggregation, opinions, discussions and helpful articles. There is a blog section, as well as content on business, nutrition, fitness, philosophy, education, happiness, tech and so on. I want it to be an international hub of fascinating reads, material and resources, but unlike other sites out there.

My vision of it is a global platform that delivers powerful information to readers, and one that anyone can benefit from. Videos, media and guest blogs from opinionated, interesting people. I also have plans to develop some sort of discussion/forum function and a detailed news feature. Think the Huffington Post, but better. A cleaner look, a more easier but equally-valuable content and focused almost exclusively on the readers. That is, all of the content will have some purpose to it. Each story will have a story behind it. If you are an avid reader, i also have a book section, in which we will discuss books, review them and dissect ideas and theories past, present and future. Here, there will be stories, poetry, recommendations, notes and hopefully friendly debate πŸ™‚

I believe, and you may or may not agree, that if everyone could read a little more, understand our purpose in life a little better and do what they genuinely love to do – the world would be a better place. And that is the mission of this site – To connect people and share knowledge for the benefit of the one family that lives under the skies.

Back to the reason i am writing to you then, i would really like you to contribute to the site in some way. I resonate with your writing, your broad interests and admire your style. It can be any format you like, eg, a weekly blog, book review, daily thoughts, short pieces, or anything that interests you. Life, health and the mind are probably my biggest passions and its a part of the site i really want to push. You could even share some of your favourite articles, or online reads as part of our RePressed section, which i talk about below.

As with reading, i think if the global population could just understand a little more about food, exercise and their mind, we would eradicate many illnesses and move the human race forward 10x fold. The only thing that is holding us back, is this lack of knowledge. That is, the habits we have, thoughts and what we do on a daily basis all links to health in the end. The mind really is everything and i think it is best described in a simple little equation: Input = Output . I am an avid student of philosophy, the body and thinking – which is what attracted me to your site.

If you take a look a the site ( link at bottom) and take a look at some of the categories, you will see a range of content which i hope will give you an idea. I think you’ll like the books topic.

Here are some of the most popular articles you may want to check out:

https://prestopost.org/2016/05/13/blog-post-title-5/ – The Illusion of Fitness

Also check out our ‘RePressed’ section: http://prestopost.org/category/repressed/ This is where we share our favourite articles, what we’re reading and any other interesting things from the web, we then link it back to the source.

The site is currently not generating any profit, but as it gets bigger i will utilise ads that are specific to the customer, maybe even ask our readers to choose the ads. I want the writing to be done from the heart, just for the sake of helping and informing others, not for anything else. You probably know that monetizing such a site will take time but can be done, so in this instance, if you are interested i ask for your patience.

I think if we can collaborate together and promote each other, it is a win-win not only for us, but for our readers.

I look forward to your reply and hope you can become part of this special project. I do not have many writers, but i am trying to build a core team of passionate people who together, create something amazing.

    Thanks for your time Lola,

    Jai
