BLURB:

When Isabella Antonelli becomes an overnight YouTube sensation in a documentary detailing her REAL, non-royal Italian American family, she needs to figure out a way to tell everyone at her fancy new school the truth about her family—or come up with some better lies.     Brimming with offbeat humor, Isabella for Real sets the scene for an eccentric, multi-generational family drama that will have readers laughing out loud and giving Isabella’s performance a standing ovation.

I think we’ve all wondered, at least once, what our lives would look like if we were to become famous.

Well, Isabelle’s wondering – had she any – has ended, for she is the newest little star on YouTube!

She didn’t ask for the fame that came with having millions of people watch her brother’s videos in which she is featured, but she got it anyway.

The funniest thing is that the double life she is living at school is not even regarding all that.

I truly enjoyed myself with ”Isabella for Real.” It’s not a very long novel, but even knowing that, I wasn’t planning on finishing it in one sitting.

But it’s just so fast-paced and… energetic! The characters are lively and light and a delight to read about.

And kudos to the illustrator for creating such fun comic strips. They definitely added originality to this book and kept me invested in the story.

With that sudden ending, I am to assume that there will be a sequel. Hopefully, my assumption is right, otherwise, the ending is a very bad one.

”Isabella for Real” is a must-read for middle graders!

  1. You’re right, it would be interesting to read about a character who becomes famous. I’d be as, if not more, interested in reading about someone who wins a huge lottery. I mean, we’ve heard the story of the dark side of that, but maybe there could be a bit of both. Or maybe I’m just rambling to fill up this comment box. Hopefully, not that.
