The Christmas Song Book Tag!

I haven’t actually been tagged to do this tag, but I think tags are for everyone and this looked fun! I discovered it thanks to Anna at Books, Quotes & Dimples! It has been created by Hails Hearts Nyc, on YouTube.

1. “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”
Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.

That is surely Snape from the Harry Potter series! Hell that character – even though rude, villainously behaving toward everyone except Draco and unsympathetic to the max – has become so so endearing to me! And he is fascinating!

2. “All I Want for Christmas is You”
Which book to you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?

Well, Christmas is over and I did receive all my gifts but, if this question would have been asked to me at the beginning of December, I would have replied with THE BANE CHRONICLES by Cassandra Clare. And I did get the book! It is so beautiful and has a manga page at the beginning of every short story!! Here it is:

The Bane Chronicles (Lola)3. “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”
Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.

There are many many characters like that and that’s great. If I had to choose though…I’d pick…Clary from The Mortal Instruments. That girl has been through A LOT. Lot lot lot. And her change in character is evident and welcomed. I like how strong she became. I’m only at book 4 in the series, but I sure can’t wait to see more of her character in the sequels.

4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”

a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?

Hmmm, I guess Klaus from The Originals: The Rise (and, yes, I’m talking about the book!) He is one of the only anti-heroes I actually ADORE. And came to quite love. It’s always a pleasure to follow his *adventures* even though his comportment isn’t one to admire.

b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?

Aww, hmm, probably Alec from Luck in the Shadows,

an M/M romance book that I’m currently reading. He is truly the nicest! Always in a good mood, nice and a good listener. I haven’t gotten very far into the book, but it stroke me how loveable that boy is. Hope you’ll get to meet him someday! *wink* *wink*

5. “Frosty the Snowman”
Which book just melts your heart?

These are sweet questions. I will have to go with THE FAULT IN OUR STARS because that is such an amazing book. And it makes you smile, giggle, laugh! And cry…perhaps, but it definitely melted my heart 😀

6. “Feliz Navidad”
Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.

HA, almost every book takes place in a country different of my own; Canada. But I will make abstraction of the North America continent and explore the other ones. Yup, let’s go with SHADOW AND BONE! It takes place in Russia, I think? Some alternative Russia anyway. Loved that book!

7. “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?

I was never one to read Christmas themed books, but I have this year read a variety of them and my most favorite, well the one bringing Christmas joy to my heart most, would be SOCK IT TO ME, SANTA! It’s a short story and a delightful one, I shall say!

8. “Sleigh Ride”
Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)?

MAGNUS BANE, MAGNUS BANE, MAGNUS BANE! Well that was predictable, wasn’t it? I love that guy! (And Alec too by the way – they’re my favorite couple!) But, yeah, spending the holidays with him would be a dream come true. (I will then have to meticulously kidnap him though…humm *clears throat* just kidding!)

9. “Baby it’s Cold Outside”
Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?

Eeeek, WE WERE LIARS for sure. I didn’t like that book at all and would burn it with much pleasure. ^_^

10. “Do you hear what I hear”
Which book do you think everyone should read?

I always go with some kind of classic that has beautiful themes  in it (in occurrence LITTLE WOMEN) but this time I’ll say the first in my favorite series, The Mortal Instruments. I think everyone should read CITY OF BONES.

Well thank you for reading!

I won’t tag anyone this time, because Christmas has already passed, but you can do it, if you want to 🙂

  1. Great answers! The hardcover of The Bane Chronicles is so beautiful and shiny and I want it so badly! I’ve always liked Snape to be honest while everyone was hating on him, especially after the sixth book but I was right all along ^^
And I agree, Magnus and Alec are truly one amazing couple ❤

  2. So Glad you did it 😀
Klaus is such an amazing anti-hero (in the show because I haven’t read the book).
Can’t say I was expecting your answer on question 8 to be different.
    Great Picks!
